Accountability

Well, this is my attempt to keep one of these blog things up and running. I can barely keep myself running at times so don't know how this is going to go. Always willing to give things a try.

I am starting this blog to chart my journey to a figure competition in April '09. I am really excited but after having 3 kids 15 months apart it is a little hard to imagine!!!

I have a great trainer and she trained me for a competition 5 years ago. I just want to do this to have a goal that is for myself. I am also always striving for the consistency in my diet that I know I need. I feel that this competition will give me a reason to be honest and good to myself.

I'm not a quitter so I know that I will be doing the competition in April but after watching yourself stretch out 3 times in a row you are less confident about the results. I am going to give it my best and see what happens.

If anyone has any words of advice please let me know. I decided to do this after reading so many of your posts.

Talk to you soon, Shelly

  1. Here's a little wisdom for you, from someone who's done 3 shows and learned a few things... ;).

Compete because you like competition. Don't compete because you want the body of your dreams. So many girls go into figure comps with the goal of changing their body and then training to maintain that look 365 days a year. It's not possible. The upside is you learn so much about your body and your relationship with food to take into your off-season, so in that respect, competing does help.

Go in with the intention of doing your best, having alot of fun, meeting great people, and winning! There's no other way to look at it.

From one mom to another.... :) You will ROCK YOUR SHOW IN APRIL!!
